Only three-four students can be up at a time during independent work for academic purposes such as supplies, tissues, hand sanitizer, sharpening pencils, etc,

Courses Taught:
-
7th Grade Ready Math (Period 3 or 4)
-
In Grade 7, students focus on four critical areas: (1) developing understanding of and applying proportional relationships; (2) developing understanding of operations with rational numbers and working with expressions and linear equations; (3) solving problems involving scale drawings and informal geometric constructions, and working with two- and three-dimensional shapes to solve problems involving area, surface area, and volume; and (4) drawing inferences about populations based on samples.

8th Grade Ready Math (Period 1 or 2)

In Grade 8, students focus on three critical areas: (1) formulating and reasoning about expressions and equations, including modeling an association in bivariate data with a linear equation, and solving linear equations and systems of linear equations; (2) grasping the concept of a function and using functions to describe quantitative relationships; (3) analyzing two- and three-dimensional space and figures using distance, angle, similarity, and congruence, and understanding and applying the Pythagorean Theorem.

Math Support (Period 6)
-
In math support, students focus on critical areas taught in 4th-6th grade that will help students become prepared for high school algebra and geometry. Students in this course will work on fact fluency and math precision through the 8 standards of mathematical practice. This course will use a variety of real-life math connections, math games, hands-on labs, technology, AVID strategies, puzzles, collaboration, and much more.

PLUS: Peer Leaders Uniting Students (Application Required-After School Club) *Is an A-G course at the High School level
-
In PLUS, students will develop essential leadership skills, learn to foster inclusivity, and promote a supportive and connected school community. Students will engage in a variety of activities including team-building exercises, conflict resolution, and community service projects.

Grading

All grades can be viewed through ParentVUE and StudentVUE

Grades are updated as follows: 1st period on Mon. 2nd Period on Tues. 3rd Period on Wed.
4th Period on Thurs. and 6th Period on Fri.

Late work is accepted but will consist of a 10% point deduction
-
Students may schedule a test/quiz retake if they complete all homework and classwork

50 minutes of their iReady personal math pathway completed every week with notes template (some class time given)
