    Numbers and Operations: Adding and Subtracting Rational Numbers

    Integer Exponents: Properties and Scientific Notation

    Geometry: Lines, 2-D Shapes, and Angles

    Unit 2

    Numbers and Operations: Multiplying and Dividing Rational Numbers

    Real Numbers: Rational Numbers and Irrational Numbers

    Algebraic Expressions and Equations: coordinates, inequalities, cartesian plane, tables, variables, and  solving equations

    Unit 3

    Algebraic Thinking: Expressions, Equations, and Inequalities

    Functions: Linear and Nonlinear Relationships

    All things Fractions: Use the four operations to solve problems with like and unlike fractions

    Unit 4

    Proportional Relationships: Ratios, Rate, and Circles

    Linear Relationships: Slope, Linear Equations, and Systems

    Place value: factors, multiples, use the four operations to solve problems with decimals

    Unit 5

    Proportional Reasoning: Percents and Statistical Samples

    Geometric Figures: Rigid Transformations and Congruence

    Measurement: conversions, volume, area, and surface area

    Unit 6

    Geometry: Solids, Triangles, and Angles

    Geometric Figures: Transformations, Similarity, Angle Relationships, and the Pythagorean Theorem

    Probability and Statistics: graphs, collecting and organizing data

    Unit 7

    Probability:Theoretical Probability, Experimental Probability, and Compound Events.

    Statistics: Two-Variable Data and Fitting a Linear Model

    Critical Thinking Tasks: a review of all units combined in thinking tasks projects.

     

    Each Grade 7 and 8 unit will consist of:
