Hello and Welcome to 4th Grade!!

 I am so excited to be here at Hoover Elementary School.. My name is Yessenia Gutierrez and I am one of the 4th Grade Teachers this year. 

I know that learning looks a whole lot different this year, but together, we can try and make it as best as we can. All we need is a little patience, flexibility and understanding, and we will get through this together amazingly!

When we get back to the classroom, my goal is to have a place for growing knowledge and acceptance. I would hope that we will be able to work towards a successful year together while having as much fun as possible! 

I was born and raised in Lodi and attended California State University Long Beach where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies. I then had the opportunity to live in Barcelona, Spain where I learned about art and culture. Upon return is when I decided to become an elementary teacher. I attended Teachers College of San Joaquin where I am recieved my Teaching Credentials, as well as my Masters Degree in Educational Inquiry. 

Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and I would hope that my students would also learn to love learning as much as I do. By making my classroom a safe, fun and disciplined place for my students, I would hope that they will enjoy coming to my classroom and learning something new everyday. I feel that all children are different and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish. I will strive to do that for each of my students; an educator who loves each child that walks in her door and gives each of them not only an education, but a passion to learn.
