Dear Parents,

     Welcome to Transitional Kindergarten!!! My name is Rajinderjit Kaur and I will be your child’s teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. I am so excited to begin a new school year with your child. Together we can make a team! I am looking forward to a great year. Please feel free to voice any questions or concerns you may have at any time. You may schedule a conference through zoom at any mutually convenient time. I hope to provide a positive learning experience for your child. When teachers and parents work together, students have the correct formula to be more successful.

     Starting August 3rd, 2020, I am doing distance teaching through zoom meetings that includes live interactions between students and the teacher, completing assignments, as well as posting in the portfolio through ClassDojo. ClassDojo is an educational app that can be downloaded on any cellular phone, ipad, and even chrome book. If you do choose to use your chrome book rather than other alternative options (phone/ipad) then please keep in mind that you must create a google gmail account in which I will provide you with an ID and password. You will be able to download ClassDojo when you get an invitation from your child’s teacher. I will also send an individual code for your child to log in the portfolio to post completed assignments. In addition, attendance will be taken every day, so please make sure you are present throughout the entire session beginning to end.

      Following are the rules during zoom meetings that must be followed: Please be kind, patient, and respectful with your words! If you lose connection during meeting time, you can rejoin me. If I lose connection, I will come back , please stay there. You have to click the link each time ( sent by me), or you can copy and paste the link in the browser by opening a new tab or you can go to zoom.us in a new tab and click on join meeting, you will be asked to enter your meeting ID, then again join and enter password. Then you will be able to join my live meeting. Please keep your microphone mute until I ask you. Raise a quiet hand to talk to me. Turn off your camera if you need to go to the restroom. I know that all of us are new to remote learning, but as a team together we can provide the best learning for our children.

     I will post important information through classstory in the classdojo. This will help you monitor your child’s learning and what is expected of your child. School time is from 8:40am to 2:35pm. If there is a discipline or learning concern during a live meeting, I will call the parent. Please reinforce positive and good behavior during zoom meetings.
