Hello and welcome to Health Academy English!

My name is Lacey Calderon, and I have taught in the Stockton Unified School District for twenty years...Time flies when you’re having fun!  Somehow I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, and thankfully, this goal came to fruition after I graduated with a Bachelor of English Degree from California State University Stanislaus in 1998...Go Warriors!  My first year of teaching was truly an adventure - from teaching 7th graders all day to attending school at night in order to complete my single-subject teaching credential, all while learning the new teacher thing.  I honestly would not change this experience for all the money in the world!  Yes, the struggle was real then, but I truly got to experience the essence of teaching and learning.  I have the best job in the world - my students inspire me every day!  In fact, after teaching English and leadership to middle and high schoolers for several years, I went back to school to earn a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and School Development.  I take pride in being a lifelong learner.  In 2015, I became a Weber Dragon...and I am honored to be a part of the Weber family.  Above all, my goal for students is to learn authentic skills to prepare them for the 21st century and have fun at the same time.  So future students, prepare to think A LOT, discuss A LOT, question A LOT, and write A LOT in my class!
