About the Teacher

Hello. My name is Mr. Saragoza, and I am the Engineering Technology Pathway teacher here at Edward C Merlo. Teaching is a second career for me, of which I have been doing for 14 years now. My first career was in Engineering for about 10 years. Of those 10 years in industry, I had the pleasure of working for Apple Computer for about 7 years. I am married with 5 children, and have 3 grandchildren. All but one of my children are adults, and the youngest is 13 years old. I enjoy watching my students learn and grow over their high school years, and I especially enjoy working with and mentoring students that participate in engineering competitions. Our students compete in the SMUD Solar Regatta, Vex Robotics League, and Delta Engineering Day. If you enjoy playing chess, I'm in room 10 and ready to play whenever possible!
