  • Program Specialist – August Elementary School

Welcome! I’m the Program Specialist at August Elementary School, where I support a wide range of academic, technology, and enrichment programs that contribute to a positive and effective learning environment for our students, families, and staff.

In my role, I coordinate statewide assessments, including the Initial and Summative ELPAC and SBAC, and manage local assessments that help track student progress and inform instruction. I also conduct data analysis on assessments and school demographics to support schoolwide planning and student achievement.

As the English Language Program Coordinator, I work closely with students, teachers, and families to support our multilingual learners. This includes monitoring student progress toward English language proficiency, guiding the reclassification process for students who demonstrate fluency, and supporting the English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) to ensure parent voice in program planning.

I'm also proud to serve as our school's AVID Coordinator. August Elementary is recognized as a National AVID Showcase Site, a distinction that reflects our strong commitment to preparing students for college and career readiness through proven strategies and a schoolwide culture of achievement.

In addition to instruction and assessment, I assist our school administrator in developing the annual school budget and work closely with various district departments—including the Language Development Office, Curriculum Department, Research Department, and Information Technology Department—to align school programs with district goals and resources.

I coordinate supplemental programs, manage Class Dojo communication, support library/media services, provide technology support to students and staff, and serve as a tutor in our Multilingual After-School Program. I also help plan and facilitate parent and family engagement events, such as Back-to-School Night, STEM Night and AVID Family Night, Trimester Awards Assemblies and attend Parent Coffee Hour, to build strong school-home partnerships.

Working as part of the school leadership team, I strive to support an inclusive, organized, and collaborative environment where every learner can thrive.
