Energy Education

  • Welcome to the SUSD Energy Education Website. Our focus is on sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.

Electric Bus Celebration with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

On August 15th, county and district officials came together with members of the EPA as well as community partners to celebrate grant funds given to the district to allow for the purchase of electric buses. Students who attended were able to hear about the projects, hear spoken-word artists, and receive a backpack with supplies.

This is another step towards our goal of reducing our carbon footprint and reaching net-zero. This is how we take care of the whole child: providing education, health and well-being, and being a good community partner.

Thank you to everyone who came out to work at the Earth Day Celebration and thank you to our guests who came out despite the weather to learn ways to live a greener life. We are already planning for our event next year!

The Pathway to ZERO Emissions

    eTRIP

The Stockton Unified School District is dedicated to enhancing our environmental impact. We are firmly committed to playing our role in reducing air pollution, and we are proud to collaborate with the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District through their Employee Trip Reduction Program, known as eTRIP. This program has been specifically developed to promote the adoption of alternative transportation options, ride-sharing, and various other strategies aimed at diminishing the number of miles traveled by our employees in their vehicles.

The program has been implemented at the four comprehensive high schools, to start. For more information, visit the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District Website

    Electric Buses

In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint, one thing we are doing is adding more electric buses. This allows us to cut pollutants and climate-altering greenhouse gas emissions while keeping noise levels to a minimum. Another way we are improving conditions for our students and staff.
