Hello, Pittman Families!
I am so blessed to be a part of our Cougar family here at Pittman! It feels like home! This will be my sixth year as an administrator, after having taught for 18 years. I taught for 16 years in Tracy Unified, grades 1st-3rd, and for two years in Manteca Unified, grades 4th-6th and as a Reading Intervention teacher. I have worked for over ten years at schools with Spanish language programs, and I am constantly amazed by our Pittman students. I have only wanted to be a teacher ever since I was young. While I still sometimes cannot believe that I moved into administration, I LOVE every part of my job! I love helping to make sure the students are safe and happy every day; supporting our teachers and staff in building relationships; and helping parents to feel that their children are being taken care of and supported. While my job is often challenging, I will tell you it's all worth it every time a student talks to me about their actions and plans for their future.
I expect the 2024-2025 school year to be an exciting, bright year for us! The staff of Pittman has worked diligently to plan and prepare the safest and most engaging environments for students to learn in. Many of us even went to "school" ourselves this summer, to improve our practice! We are motivated and look forward to having fun with our students learning! I hope to meet you, working with you and your children's teachers, to bring about the best educational experience they can have. I believe very strongly in open communication and community involvement in order to create that environment. For volunteer opportunities, visit beamentor.org to be cleared through the district. Also, please attend any of our Coffee Hours, and School Site Council (SSC), English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC), and/or African-American Parent Advisory Committee meetings.
Please do not hesitate to reach out and share questions or concerns you may have, jtjuarez@stocktonusd.net. It ALWAYS helps our children learn!
