Focused Program

As a small charter high school, PLA has a unique opportunity to offer our students a program that will prepare them for post-secondary education with a focus on A-G completion, Advancement Placement, Honors classes, and the participation in San Joaquin Delta College courses. Dual enrollment opportunities are offered to those students who have demonstrated the capability to manage the rigor of a college level course.  Every summer prior to the pandemic, we offered a “Summer Math Program” for our incoming 9th grade students and students requested math acceleration.  This was a targeted transition for these students to introduce them to the “normed” academic expectations of this campus. The faculty of PLA introduces a high level of rigor to all students in an effort to prepare students for post-secondary education.  Teachers participate in summer collaboration retreats to continue improving school culture and curriculum, and AP training.
