Destiny Rivas
Native American Indian Center Coordinator
Destiny Rivas (Cahuilla) is an honored product and next-generation leader of the Native community in the Central Valley. After attending San Francisco State University, Destiny returned to Stockton and continued to be mentored by the founders of the Native American Indian Center, Dale Fleming, and Caroline Wilson. Destiny carries the values and vision of our Indigenous elders into the next generation of local leadership through the Stockton Powwow Committee, San Joaquin Urban Native Council, Woman's Drumming group, Native American Scholarship Foundation, Native American Indian Center, and is raising awareness on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People. Destiny sits on various boards across the county representing Native American interests.

Angela Montes
Native American Cultural Assistant
Angela and her family have been participants with the Native American Indian Center for many years. She has 16 years of experience working in the Early Childhood Education field. Her passion has always been working with parents and children in and out of the classroom. She is excited to be a part of the NAIC team to continue to inspire our youth to learn more about their tribal history. It is important that we continue to provide rich cultural experiences for our Native families. To develop a bridge between our youth and their elders to keep the traditions alive and develop a stronger Native community. She looks forward to being a positive resource to our students and community.
