    The Trevor Project, 24-hour crisis line for LGBTQ youth | 1-866-488-7386 | TrevorText is a confidential and secure resource that provides live help for LGBTQ youth with a trained specialist, over text messages. Text START to 678678. www.thetrevorproject.org

    Child Abuse Information | 1-800-4-ACHILD (224453) | Provides 24/7 assistance in 170 languages to adults, children and youth with information and questions regarding child abuse. All calls are anonymous and confidential. Childhelp.org

    CDE Help for Students in Crisis Website | To support students, schools, and communities during this challenging time, the California Department of Education has gathered information regarding mental health resources, including links for students to get direct access to mental health professionals. The new “Help for Students in Crisis” web page includes crisis and warm line numbers, along with other COVID-19-related resources for providing virtual mental health services, and information for mental health providers, families, and youth: https://www.cde.ca.gov/ls/cg/mh/

    CalHOPE Warmline | As part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, DHCS launched CalHOPE, a website with resources to support people experiencing stress from the pandemic. The CalHOPE Warmline is live and answering calls – telephone or text. (833) 317-HOPE (4673).

    Summer Coffee Talks: A Virtual Social Emotional Education Series

    Stockton Unified School District’s Mental Health & Behavior Support Services Department is excited to present Summer Coffee Talks: A virtual social emotional education series for students, staff, and families. Mental Health Clinicians will be hosting virtual Coffee Talks. We will be covering one social emotional wellness topic per session followed by questions and consultation. All topics will be available in Spanish and English.   • FREE COVID Testing

    The Baseline COVID-19 Program is an effort to expand access to COVID-19 screening and testing. This testing is available to all in San Joaquin County, even those who are not exhibiting symptoms. To schedule a drive-up appointment at San Joaquin General Hospital, please access this Verily site.

    Seeking Treatment for COVID-19

    If you feel any of the COVID-19 symptoms [you have difficulty breathing (shortness of breath); you feel like symptoms (such as fever and cough) are getting worse rapidly; you are unable to care for symptoms at home], call your doctor for a phone evaluation. They will give you guidance on whether or not you should get tested for COVID-19.

    No Health Insurance or Regular Doctor?

    Community Medical Centers, a network of 21 neighborhood health centers, has made rapid adjustments to offer telephone visits during the COVID-19 crisis. 

    Dignity Health has free Virtual Urgent Care Visits for those with COVID-19 symptoms. Use coupon code COVID19 if you are experiencing mild to moderate COVID-19 symptoms. Symptoms can include low-grade fever, cough, or shortness of breath.

    If you think you may be experiencing an emergency related to COVID-19, call 9-1-1 and let the operator know you’re experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. That way, the ambulance provider can prepare to treat you safely.

Food Resources


  • Free Meals for All Age 18 and Under

    Stockton Unified will continue providing meals to any child 18 and under throughout the summer. Beginning June 1, meal pickups will be available on Mondays and Thursdays from 9AM – 10AM at the sites listed below:

    Pandemic EBT cards to access food benefits

    Pandemic EBT cards are arriving in mailboxes across the state so that families can access up to $365 per child in food benefits. Families with Medi-Cal should automatically receive these food benefits. Those that do not automatically qualify can apply online here starting May 22.

     

    CalFresh Program

    CalFresh is for people with low-income who meet federal income eligibility rules and want to add to their budget to put healthy and nutritious food on the table. Beginning June 1, 2019, recipients of SSI/SSP benefits may be eligible for CalFresh Food benefits for the first time! Childcare Resources

  • Family Resource and Referral Center

    If you are a health care worker, first responders, or any essential service worker and are in need of child care, licensed family child care is a great option-especially as family child care homes are a smaller setting and are good options for social distancing. Many child care providers are accepting new children. Family Resource & Referral Center provides free, professional referrals (not recommendations) to licensed child care providers in the county. Work & Income Resources


  • Summer Work Permits for Students

    1. Please print Student's Work Permit Application Form B1-1 Statement of Intent to Employ a Minor and Request for Work Permit-Certification of Age.

    2. Use only blue or black ink to fill out your information (Minor's Information, School Information and Parent's Information Signature-giving minor consent to work).

    3. Make sure to have your prospective employer complete and sign the Employer section of the form. 

    4. Once completed, please email your work permit application as a PDF format to cwarequest@stocktonusd.net. Then, our office staff will start the process of your "Actual" summer work permit. You will be notified by email or mail to finish the process. NOTE: If you do not have access to a scanner or printer, please drop off/mail your summer work permit application to:

    Financial Assistance for Immigrant Families

    Immigrant families in need of financial assistance may apply for Disaster Relief Assistance for Immigrants (DRAI), a one-time state-funded disaster relief payment for undocumented adult immigrants impacted by COVID-19 and who are not eligible to receive funds from the CARES Act federal stimulus payments or from pandemic unemployment benefits. An undocumented adult who qualifies can receive $500 in direct assistance, with a maximum of $1,000 in assistance per household.

    Filing for Unemployment Insurance (UI)

    Unemployment Insurance provides partial wage replacement benefit payments to workers who lose their job or have their hours reduced, through no fault of their own (including because of COVID-19). Online Learning Resources


  • Free Audiobooks & E-Books for SUSD Students

    The SORA collection is an extension of our SUSD physical libraries, only it’s online with 24/7 access to ebooks and audiobooks. It’s convenient for students to check out titles at home with no worry about misplacing a book or running up late fees – these digital titles automatically return at the end of the lending period!
     
    Digital books are compatible with smartphones, tablets, eReaders, and computers. All you need to get started is an internet connection and your SUSD Google account. Access SORA in your browser by visiting  soraapp.com/library/stocktonca or download the Sora app and use the setup code stocktonca. Note: Students must be logged into their District Google account to access SORA.
