Professional Learning Communities

  • We are deeply committed to the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) model. PLC implementation is our primary initiative and an essential part of our Multi-Tiered System of Support. We recognize the PLC model as a highly effective way to impact students and empower teachers to work together rather than in isolation. We base our work off of Rick and Becky DuFour and our colleagues at Solution Tree.

We focus on the following four questions:

    1. What do we expect our students to learn? (Essential Standards)
    2. How will we know they are learning? (Teacher Created Common Formative Assessments)
    3. How will we respond when they don't learn?  (System of Interventions)
    4. How will we respond when they already know it?  (Extended Learning)

Our PLCs can use this Rubric to help move their implementation forward.

This page is under further development and will have links to resources and samples of our work. Check back to watch our progress.
