  • Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year!  I am Dr. Sondra Knudsen, and I am excited and honored to be the principal of Alex G. Spanos Elementary School. I was born and raised in California and have been with Stockton Unified for over 20 years, and in the education field for over 30 years.  My goal is that all students will leave our care better than they came in: better writers, better readers, better critical thinkers, and better people who are prepared for the next stage in their lives.  To achieve these goals, I look forward to meeting you and working with our entire school community as a team that promotes relationships, trust, and support for our student’s academic and personal growth.

On behalf of the staff at Spanos School, I am happy to welcome you to this new school year! We anticipate a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We look forward to seeing you on the first day of school, Thursday, August 1, 2024.  Start time and dismissal will remain the same for this school year with start time: 8:00 A.M., and dismissal time: 1:55 P.M.
