   Welcome to the Social Studies Department at the School for Adults!

      My name is Fernando Alvarez, M.Ed. I will be your social studies teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. We use the Edgenuity platform to provide you with the most up-to-date curriculum. I am in charge of helping you navigate and earn credits on:

World History I -- 5CR         US History I -- 5CR          ECON -- 5CR

World History II -- 5CR        US History II -- 5 CR        US GOV -- 5CR

        You work independently either at home (online only), on campus (in the classroom), or both using Edgenuity. I am here to help you understand the material and help you with your assignments. You work at your own pace. However, you are required to work at least 12 hours a week on average. I encourage you to budget your time in a way that is effective for your learning and to meet your goals. You are also required to participate in the CASAS post testing to maintain your enrollment status.
