• Victory School Cell Phone and Electronic Policy 2024-2025

     

    Cell Phone and/or Electronic Devices Use and Responsibility

    • Cell phone/Electronic devices must be silent, out of sight, off the body (in their backpack) during the school day.  Students may use cell phones/electronic devices once exiting the gates.

    • Students who are in possession of cell phones must adhere to the Student Code of Conduct, Student Handbook, Acceptable Use Policy, and all Board Policies, particularly Internet Acceptable Use.

      • Students may not use cell phones/electronic devices without administration approval.

      • Students will be held accountable for any negative postings, pictures, or video. 

      • Students may not use social media at school.

      • Students may not use cell phones to “bully” or post derogatory statements about students, faculty, or staff via text message or Social Media.

      • Students who need to leave early for appointments or illness must check out through the attendance office or nurse’s office. Students cannot just call/text home and leave.

      • A student who has a phone confiscated may not use another student’s cell phone.

    Cyber Safety: We will review cyber-safety rules with students frequently throughout the course of the school year and will offer reminders and reinforcement about safe cell phone behaviors. In addition to the rules outlined in these guidelines, students will be expected to comply with all class and school rules while using personal devices. The use of a cell phone is not a right but a privilege. When abused, privileges will be withdrawn.

    First Offense: 

    • Phone confiscated and turned into office staff

    • Staff member logs offense in Red Binder in office

    • Student can sign Red Binder log and pick up after school only.

     

    Second Offense: 

    • Phone Confiscation, Red Binder log

    • Parent notification by office staff/or administrator

    • Parent picks up and sign for phone at the end of the school day

         

    Third Offense:

    • Phone Confiscation and Red Binder log

    • Parent notification

    • Possible Disciplinary action

    • Parent, Admin, Teacher meeting before phone is returned

    Fourth Offense:

    • Confiscation, Log in Red Binder and Parent notification 

    • Disciplinary action (Detention, Possible Suspension)

    • Phone must be checked into office every morning.

    Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Devices: 

    Each user is responsible for his/her own cell phone and/or electronic devices and should use it responsibly and appropriately. Victory takes no responsibility for stolen, lost, or damaged cell phones, including lost or corrupted data on those devices. While school employees will help students identify how to keep personal devices secure, students will have the final responsibility for securing their cell phones.

    Cell phones and other electronic devices must not disrupt the educational environment of SUSD. Use of these devices during scheduled class time is prohibited. SUSD acknowledges the need for students and families to communicate with cell phones.

    Uso y Responsabilidad del Teléfono Celular

    • Teléfono celular/ dispositivos electrónicos deben permanecer en silencio y estar fuera de la vista durante el día escolar (en mochila). 

    • Los estudiantes que poseen teléfonos celulares deben cumplir con el Código de Conducta del Estudiante, el Manual del Estudiante, la Política de Uso Aceptable y todas las Políticas de la Mesa Directiva, en particular el Uso Aceptable de Internet.

      • Los estudiantes no pueden usar teléfonos celulares / dispositivos electrónicos sin la autorización de la administración. 

      •  Los estudiantes pueden usar las redes sociales (con permiso), pero no pueden publicar fotografías, tomar video o usar el tiempo de la cara.

      • Los estudiantes serán responsables por cualquier mensaje negativo, imágenes o video.

      • Los estudiantes no pueden usar teléfonos celulares para "intimidar" o para publicar declaraciones despectivas sobre estudiantes, profesores o personal a través de mensajes de texto o medios sociales.

      • Los estudiantes que necesitan salir temprano para citas o enfermedad deben visitar la oficina de asistencia o la oficina de la enfermera. Los estudiantes no pueden simplemente llamar / ingresar a casa y salir.

      • Un estudiante que tiene un teléfono confiscado no puede usar el teléfono celular de otro estudiante.

    Seguridad Cibernética: Revisaremos las reglas de seguridad cibernética con los estudiantes frecuentemente durante el transcurso del año escolar y ofreceremos recordatorios y refuerzos sobre las conductas seguras de los teléfonos celulares. Además de las reglas descritas en estas pautas, se espera que los estudiantes cumplan con todas las reglas de la clase y de la escuela mientras usan dispositivos personales. El uso de un teléfono celular no es un derecho sino un privilegio. Cuando se abusan, los privilegios serán retirados.



    Primera Ofensa:

    • Teléfono confiscado y entregarlo en la oficina 

    • Personal registra ofensas en carpeta roja en oficina.

    •  El estudiante puede firmar el registro de la carpeta roja y recoger después de la escuela.

    Reincidencia: 

    • Confiscación y registra ofensas en carpeta roja en oficina.

    • Notificación a los padres

    • El estudiante puede recoger y firmar para el teléfono al final del día escolar 

    Tercera Ofensa:

    • Confiscación registra ofensas en carpeta roja en oficina.

    • Notificación a los padres

    • Acción disciplinarian

    • El padre puede recogerlo al final del día 

    Cuarta Ofensa:

    • Confiscación y registra ofensas en carpeta roja en oficina.

    • Notificación a los padres

    • Acción disciplinarian

    • El teléfono no puede ser devuelto hasta el final del año escolar

    Dispositivos perdidos, robados o dañados:

    Cada usuario es responsable de su propio teléfono celular y debe usarlo de manera responsable y apropiada. Victory no se hace responsable de los teléfonos celulares robados, perdidos o dañados, incluidos los datos perdidos o dañados de esos dispositivos. Mientras que los empleados de la escuela ayudarán a los estudiantes a identificar cómo mantener los dispositivos personales seguros, los estudiantes tendrán la responsabilidad final de asegurar sus teléfonos celulares.

    Los teléfonos celulares y otros dispositivos electrónicos no deben perturbar el entorno educativo del SUSD. El uso de estos dispositivos durante el horario de clase está prohibido. El SUSD reconoce la necesidad de que los estudiantes y las familias se comuniquen con los teléfonos celulares.
