A few of the programs that we have here at Hamilton include:
AVID - AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society. Our Middle School was AVID Certified last year and we are currently working towards being certified as AVID Schoolwide.
i-Ready- i-Ready is an online diagnostic and instruction tool, designed to pinpoint student needs and deliver personalized instruction. Based on their individual results, each student receives an Individual "Pathway" to help further their learning or to bridge the learning gaps. To receive the full benefit of i-Ready, each student is highly encouraged to participate for 40-50+ minutes in both Reading and Math.
AMIRA is an online reading assistant for students in grades 1st to 4th that listens, assesses & coaches to accelerate reading mastery. Hamilton was chosen to pilot this program and it allows teachers to monitor progress of student's reading fluency.
AmeriCorps has two programs currently at Hamilton. Reading Corps aims to improve reading skills among struggling students in grades 1st to 3rd and Math Corps helps 4th to 8th grade students gain confidence in math and helps raise their test scores.
The Engligh Language Program (ELP) helps ensure that English Language Learners (ELL) attain English proficiency and achieve academically. This includes the Engligh Language Proficiency Assessment for California (ELPAC) which is used to identify and monitor EL students' progress toward English language proficiency. EL students continue to take the ELPAC annually until they meet the district's reclassification criteria. Also to address our ELL's needs, Hamilton teachers provide English Language Development (ELD) instruction, provide the English Language Academic Hour (ELAH) where students have access to Rosetta Stone, and Mr. Garcia, our Bilingual Assist, provides small group instruction for our struggling ELL.
Hamilton partners with outside community agencies (SJCOE Outdoor Education, Stockton Heat, UOP's Beyond Our Gates, University Park Messages of Peace, Junior Leage of San Joaquin County) to broaden our student's perspective of the world and to offer them experiences outside of the classroom.
Nearpod, like PearDeck, empowers educators to create experiences that make learning engaging and inspiring. Nearpod allows our students to take virtual field trips, to participate in exciting lessons, and allows our teachers to complete informal checking for understanding.
Google Apps for Education to ensure that all students have access to technology and their Google Classrooms.
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is the state academic testing program for Grades 3rd-8th. It is a system intended to provide information that can be used to monitor student progress in meeting academic grade level standards.
