Dear Fremont Elementary School Families,
As we begin this new school year, I am excited to welcome you to our school community. I am honored to serve as your Principal for the 2024-2025 school year and work together to create a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
As we embark on this new academic year, we are committed to achieving our academic goals by focusing on the synergies between our school's vision, mission, and values. At Fremont Elementary School, we aspire our students to achieve excellence through Arts, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID).
We are re-establishing our active member partnership with Turn Around Arts to further enhance our Arts Integration Program. This will enable us to dive deeper into arts integration and provide our students with a well-rounded education.
Our school-wide PBIS activities and expectations will promote a positive culture among students, staff, and parents. We will also introduce our new "BACKS" store, where students can redeem their "Bark Bucks" earned through good behavior.
To support our students' academic success, we will implement school-wide AVID strategies in our classrooms. This will help students develop effective learning strategies and achieve their academic goals.
We are committed to strengthening our community engagement through our English Language Acquisition Committee (ELAC), Coffee Hour, and School-wide Class Dojo. These initiatives will enable us to effectively communicate with parents and keep them informed about their child's progress.
This year, we will continue to offer various community activities, including Zumba, start Language Acquisition through Latino Literacy, and Rosetta Stone Lessons. We will also schedule Parent-Teacher Conferences at the beginning of the year to set goals for students and mid-year conferences to track progress.
A new school-parent compact agreement is added this year of a no-cellphone policy during instructional time, unless it is for educational purposes. If students need to contact their parents during instructional time, they can use the front office to make a call.
To better serve our parents, we have established a protocol for meeting with teachers before speaking with administrators on parent concerns. This will enable us to address any concerns or questions you may have in a timely and efficient manner.
Our new bell schedule is from 8:45 am to 2:45 pm, with breakfast served from 8:10 am.
To ensure student safety, please do not double park in front of the school or nearby houses during drop-off and dismissal times. Additionally, please note that our late pickup policy ends at 2:00 pm. Please pick up the student no later than 2:00 pm for early release if possible.
As we embark on this new school year, I envision our school community as a Collaborative Community of Trust and Shared Purpose. I am excited to work with students, parents, and staff to create a positive and supportive learning environment fostering excellence and achievement.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Sincerely,
Ivygail Henderson, Ed. S.
Principal
