Aloha students and families!
My name is Miss Julia and I am a school counselor at Montezuma. On campus, I help students cope with life changes, manage behaviors, keep and maintain friendships, etc. I prioritize enhancing their problem-solving, communication, and coping skills. I strive to ensure our students leave our campus better equipped to be college, career, and community ready. I also work with small groups and carry out SEL lessons to help students learn how to create goals, how to regulate their emotions/social skills, and inform them on a range of important topics (i.e. bullying, substance abuse, high school prep, etc.). I give check in/check out support through a multi-tiered behavior system. With parent/guardian permission, I also provide goal focused short-term counseling.
All student sessions are confidential unless the student discloses the following: if a student is being harmed or abused by another individual, if a student is or wanting to harm others, or if the student is or wanting to harm themselves.
