    Project Lead the Way

    • Project Lead the WayProject Lead the Way is an engaging K-12 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum that is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards.  Along with learning grade-level content, PLTW courses focus on problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and perseverance.  Stockton Unified will have 30 schools offering PLTW at the start of the 2019-20 school year.

Our goal is to produce 350-400 STEM prepared graduates each year that go on to colleges and local employers to support a STEM powered economy in the region.

Elementary and Middle School PLTW Programs

Launch is an engaging project-based K-5 STEM curriculum. Launch modules consist of 3 activities, a project, and culminate in a relevant engineering design problem.

Gateway offers in-depth elective courses for students in grades 6-8 that form a bridge from Elementary to High School programs. Gateway programs give students the prerequisite skills to pursue the diversity of engineering, biomedical science, and computer science pathways available at our local high schools.

      High School PLTW Programs:

Engineering programs prepare students to engage in solving real-world problems across a wide range of engineering disciplines from civil engineering to computer integrated manufacturing.

Biomedical Science is offered exclusively at Health Careers Academy.  Biomedical Science is a specialized program that takes students into a deep exploration of the science of medicine.

Computer Science equips students to not only consume computer programs but to create them.
