We are so excited for the 2024-2025 school year! School Counselors will be available between the hours of 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM. You may contact your counselor/your child’s counselor via email (see below) or by phone/voicemail at 209-933-7285 ext. 6710. Please allow one business day for response. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and flexibility.
Taft's School Counseling Program Vision Statement:
The vision of Taft School's comprehensive school counseling program is that every student will acquire the academic, career, and social/emotional skills to reach their fullest potential. Students will successfully manage their lives as healthy, responsible, and productive citizens who respect themselves and others. They will develop and nurture curiosity, motivation, flexibility, and enthusiasm as well as maintain cultural awareness and show resiliency to reach their future college and career goals to become lifelong learners in an ever-changing world.
Taft's School Counseling Program Mission Statement:
The mission of the Taft School counseling program is to provide students with an excellent comprehensive school counseling program and for them to receive a quality public education experience. School Counselors deliver research-based curriculum, data-driven interventions, and student-focused activities that promote long range results in academic achievement, career development, and social-emotional growth. The program will help all students reach their maximum potential, become lifelong learners and responsible citizens, which will enable students to reach their future goals in an atmosphere that encourages cultural and socioeconomic diversity. By supporting and creating partnerships with educators and stakeholders, the counseling program advocates for equity, access, and success for all students. The school counselor’s aim is to equip each student with the skills, knowledge, and motivation to respond to the ever-changing world of the 21st century.
