Welcome to Flora Arca Mata Elementary,

It is an honor to serve a school which is named after someone who is dear to my heart.  Flora Arca Mata instilled the importance of education to all of the students, families and teachers that she served in the Stockton community.  As your new principal, I will strive to continue her educational legacy to the students and staff of Mata Elementary.

As Principal, it is my goal to work with our teachers, staff, students, and community to create a safe learning environment that allows every student to reach their full potential.  I plan to continue the work that was started, which is to foster the importance of education and to nurture our students to become respectful, responsible, productive, and creative members of our local and global communities. 

At Mata Elementary, we will continue to model and teach 21^st century learning skills within the curriculum.  This year we will implement school wide AVID (Achievement Via Individual Determination) strategies, school wide PBIS (Positive Behavior and intervention Supports) strategies, and continue to focus on collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking skills.  School-wide Class Dojo will be our means for school to home communication, which is a free app on all Smart phone devices and/or computers.

The Flora Arca Mata School Staff and I strive to:

1. Form strong partnerships with you, the parents, in facilitating your child’s education
2. Maintain open lines of communication between school and home
3. Maintain a safe and orderly environment where learning is the priority

It is truly an honor to serve as your new principal and I look forward to meeting all of our Mighty Mata Mustangs!!
