  • Dear Kennedy Elementary Community,

    As we begin the 2024-2025 school year, I am thrilled to introduce myself as the Assistant Principal at Kennedy Elementary. My name is Amanda Farthing, and I am deeply honored to join this vibrant and dedicated school community.

    Having spent over 20 years with the Stockton Unified School District, I have had the privilege of experiencing various roles within our educational system. My journey began as a classified employee, a role I cherished for 12 years. Following that, I transitioned into the classroom as a special education teacher, where I spent seven fulfilling years supporting and nurturing students. Now, as I enter my second year as Assistant Principal at Kennedy Elementary, I am excited to bring my passion for education and commitment to student success to this role.

    As a proud Stocktonian, my roots run deep in this community. I attended Stockton Unified schools for elementary and middle school, graduated from Edison High School, and earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of the Pacific. This personal connection to the district, and our community, only strengthens my dedication to contributing positively to the growth and development of our students and their families.

    I look forward to working closely with our incredible staff, students, and parents to continue fostering an environment where every child can thrive. Together, I am confident we can make this a wonderful school year.
